Mo tours with tribute to Victoria Wood

THE wit and charm of comedian Victoria Wood will be coming to the Daventry district over the next few weeks.

Mo Shapiro, pictured right, will perform her one-woman show called Victoria Wood and Me, to Crick, Brington and Brixworth as she goes on tour around the area.

The show is a combination of sketches and songs from the award- winning comedienne produced by Entertainment MK. As well as taking on some of Wood’s most famous creations, Mo will play the role of a woman born on the same day and at the same hospital as Victoria Wood with material written by Louise Roache.

The show starts tonight (Thursday) at Crick Village Hall and the tour continues tomorrow night (Friday) with a performance at Brington Primary School.

It is the second time she has toured as she bought the show to audiences at Long Buckby, Flore and Guilsborough last year.

Mo said: “I continue to be amazed by Victoria Wood and Louise and the material they have written.

“They write so little but manage to say so much and it is all fantastically funny.

“The tickets are cheap and you know the material is going to be good so it should be a really fantastic night.”

All of the shows start at 7.45pm and tickets cost £6 each.

Anyone looking to book tickets for the show at Crick can do so by calling Gwyneth Nisbet on 01788 822679. Tickets for the Brington performance can be booked by calling 01604 770286 or 01604 842391.

For those interested in the performance at Brixworth Village Hall, on Saturday, November 19, tickets can be booked by calling 01604 880654.

There will also be a performance at Overstone Village Hall on Friday November 18.
