YOUNGSTERS have been enjoying fun and games on a large scale during the first week of the Christmas holidays at Daventry Leisure Centre.
On Monday the venue on Load Road hosted a giant board games session featuring activities such as Giant Jenga.
Sports such as football, touch rugby, athletics, tennis and hockey have also been running along with Nintendo Wii gaming sessions.
Alex Le Guével, sports development co-ordinator at Daventry Active Ltd, said: “The sessions have been going really well.
“We’ve had around 15 children each day and they have been enjoying a variety of sports, including basketball, cricket, football and tennis.
“The children have also had priority access to Adventure World, they’ve played on our giant board games and competed in a Wii Olympics.
“This is the first time we have organised a Christmas sports camp and feedback from parents has been excellent so far.
“We will certainly be making it a regular part of the sporting calendar.”
