Cinderella at MK Theatre - Christmas 2012

Reviews of Cinderella at Northampton’s Royal and Derngate and Milton Keynes Theatre.

Cinderella, The Royal and Derngate, Northampton. Reviewed by Natalie Bell.

THIS amazing show is the best pantomime I have seen so far.

The glittering sets were fantastic and really set the scene. Plus the special effects had the audience wowed.

The music was very current which gave this classic story a modern twist without losing any credibility. The songs were well known by the majority of the audience.

Denise Welch played a fantastic part, her humour and singing were a joy to watch while Bobby Davro was, as usual, very entertaining and had the entire audience engrossed in what he was doing at all times. His jokes involved the audience and especially the children and added to the fun of the whole experience.

This really has a feel good factor to it for all ages and ended with a standing ovation.

I would definitely recommend a visit.

THIS was a very traditional pantomime that has been bought up-to-date with jokes about social media but this did nothing to detract from the story.

There were three stand-out performers for the show. Louie Spence danced and pranced as Dandini, Kev Orkian as Buttons and Deniece Pearson who sung beautifully as the Fairy Godmother. All three of them really stole the show.

There were also beautiful sets and costumes and plenty of jokes for the children as well as innuendos for the adults in the audience.

One of the best pantomimes I have ever seen.
