PLENTY of colourful fireworks will be going off around the Daventry area with several displays over the weekend.
Borough Hill will host the town’s fireworks display, the first in four years. Gates open at 6pm for the free event on Saturday.
For those looking to make a weekend of it, the fun starts tomorrow (Friday) when a display comes to Everdon Hall from 6pm. The bonfire will be lit at the start with the fireworks beginning at 7pm.
Entrance is £4 for adults and £1.50 for children if bought in advance from Ali Evans on 01327 361811.
A torchlight procession will be the start of the fun in Flore on Saturday night.
It leaves the scout hut at 6.30pm with the bonfire lit at 6.45pm and the fireworks from 7.30pm.
The home of the gunpowder plot, Ashby St Ledgers will be getting in on the act.
The Olde Coach House in the village is organising a display on Sunday which starts at 7pm. There will be entertainment from 4pm with warming drinks and jacket potatoes served.
There is a new venue for the Byfield Pyromusical, which takes place on Sunday.
There will be fireworks set to music at Boddington Reservoir from 6pm.
Saturday will also see fireworks let off at Bush Hill Farm in Flecknoe from 6.30pm and from 5.30pm at Norton. There will also be a display at Woodford United Football Club in Woodford Halse, from 5.15pm on Saturday. Tickets are £2 for children, £3 for adults and £10 for a family ticket.
