An artist from Crick hopes to gain more inspiration and motivation from showing her work as part of Northamptonshire’s Open Studios.

Gisele Hibberd Pellegrini will exhibit her art at The Moorings Restaurant on West Haddon Road (NN6 7SQ) as the location features in many of her pieces.

She said: “I paint as a hobby and take inspiration from everything. I travel a lot with my job and am inspired by things such as flowers and outdoor scenes.

“Mostly I try to convey a moment of happiness and in my work I think I am trying to make that moment last.”

Ms Pellegrini attended art workshop many years ago but only started painting again as a hobby in the last four years.

She uses pastels and paints but finds she can express herself most effectively using collage.

She said: “I have developed something more personal with collage and can get my message across better.

“I am looking forward to Open Studios and to hearing feedback on my work.

“It will also be the first time some of my family have seen my original prints so that’s exciting.”

Ms Pellegrini is one of four local residents exhibiting their work over the next few weeks. It can be seen between Saturday September 7 and Sunday September 22 from 11am until 9.30pm, though the restaurant closes Sunday and Monday evenings.

Peter Hughes will exhibit his interiors between Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 22 at the Stable Yard at Holdenby House (NN6 8DJ).

A variety of his textiles, prints, paintings, jewellery and furniture will be available to view between the hours of 10am and 4pm.

Helen West will exhibit her handmade gold and silver jewellery individually designed and made in Brixworth.

Her jewellery can be viewed at 1a Kennel Terrace in Brixworth (NN6 9DL) from Saturday, September 7 until Saturday, September 21 from 10am until 5pm.

Finally Carolyn Bailey is to exhibit her contemporary landscape and animal portraits created in her shepherd’s hut studio.

A display of photography, painting and drawings can be seen at Willow Farm Cottage, Clay Coton in Daventry (NN6 6JU) between the hours of 10am and 4.30pm and at other times by appointment. Her work can be seen each weekend from Saturday, September 7 until Sunday, September 22 and on Wednesday, September 11 and Wednesday, September 18.
