Rock band The Lycergics will be playing a gig at The Coach and Horses in Daventry.

They will be appearing alongside another Daventry band Palace Pictures on Saturday.

It will be taking place as the band launch a new album which they hope will be released within the next couple of months.

Lead singer Paul Knowles said: “The new album is called For Research Purposes and there are lots of different things on there.

“It’s different from what we have done in the past, it is probably a little bit more thoughtful and psychadelic.”

One of the songs off the new album entitled Really Shouldn’t Say will be used on a film called Knowing Beth to start shooting in the summer and relased next year.

Paul said: “The fact that it is being used is just starting to sink in. It will be wierd but in a good way.”

And he is hoping that a large number of people come out to see the gig.

Paul said: “There will be some new songs including a lot off the new album. There’s some of the favourites that people come to our gigs to hear and a couple of covers. Should be a good night.”

Entry to the gig is free.
