A classic children’s story will be bought to life using puppets for a show at Staverton Village Hall later this month.

Peter and the Wolf, based on the composition by Sergei Prokofiev released in 1936, has been adapted by Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre.

The show is designedfor magical introduction to live theatre and it has been bought to Staverton by Northants Touring Arts.

Peter and the Wolf, one of the company’s most successful touring shows, follows the adventures of Peter’s visit to his grandfather’s cottage at the edge of the great forest.

The fun show, designed for the whole family, comes complete with life-sized wolf puppets alongside Peter and his grandfather.

It has been put to the soundtrack of Russian-style folk music written by Douglas Kerr that fits the story with the puppets’ movements done in a very special way.

The show is suitable for children aged between four and 10 years old.

Firmly established as one of Scotland’s leading puppet theatre companies, Clydebuilt tour far and wide throughout the UK from Inverness to London and Ireland.
