MHDE A Christmas Carol

THERE will be a Dickensian feel to the festive period as the seasonal classic, A Christmas Carol is performed at the Royal and Derngate in Northampton.

One of the most festive tales will be bought to life and will celebrate the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ birth in a show designed for all the family.

Meet wealthy miser Ebenezer Scrooge, all set to greet Christmas with a traditional bah humbug. But he will be visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future who will show him the consequences of his bad tempered ways.

Featuring some of the best loved Dickensian characters including Bob Cratchit, his son Tiny Tim and Jacob Marley, this new adaptation is being staged by the Royal and Derngate’s in-house production team.

A talented cast of professional actors and musicians will be joined by three teams of local children, who were selected through open auditions to play street urchins and other younger characters.

A Christmas Carol runs from Wednesday, November 28 to Sunday, January 6 and is packed with festive music and fun.

Tickets are priced between £10 and £21 with family tickets and groups and school discounts available.
