AN AWARD-winning barbershop chorus from Byfield will be performing at a charity concert.

5Ways Barbershop Chorus will be performing a wide range of songs in an acapella style with tracks ranging from up-tempo hits to romantic ballads.

The group of singers include among their repertoire barbershop standards such as My Wild Irish Rose to more up-to-date classics, including Can You Feel the Love Tonight from the movie The Lion King and Is This the Way to Amarillo?

The concert will be raising funds for the Katharine House Hospice in Banbury.

Community fundraiser for the charity Sarah Brennan said: “We are delighted to have secured such a talented group to perform in aid of the hospice. This concert forms part of a series of events to mark the 20th anniversary of Katharine House.

“The group’s energy and passion for music, combined with their unique style, is sure to provide a memorable evening’s entertainment for all.”

5Ways recently achieved success when they won the best small chorus award after performing at a convention of British Assocation of Barbershop Singers held in Llandudno earlier this year.

Tickets for the concert are £10 each and it will be held at the Marlborough Road Methodist Church in Banbury on Saturday, October 15 from 7.30pm.

They are available from the fundraising office at Katharine House on 01295 812161 or email sarah.brenann@khh.org.uk.
