A GROUP fronted by a former Daventry girl have released a new song online.
Alison Wheeler is one of the vocalists of The South, a group made up of ex-members of pop act The Beautiful South who split in 2007.
The South’s new track called The Entertainer is available to members of their website and was released on Monday.
The band will be looking to release a track each month for the next 12 months.
Alison, a former William Parker School pupil who was part of The Beautiful South line-up from 2003 to 2007, said: “We want to give our fans a very different experience.
“To deliver a song a month in your inbox feels like the right thing.”
At the end of 12 months the band will offer an exclusive opportunity to buy a very special edition album, including many exclusive extras and all 12 tracks in a special presentation box.
Membership will also include discounts at the online store, alternative versions of classic tracks and video blogs from some of the band’s members when they go on tour. To find out more about the new-look band and to get access to all of the new tracks as they are released, visit www.thesouth.co.uk.
