Alice Cooper to headline at Cropredy

ROCK star Alice Cooper has been announced as headline act on the first day of this year’s Fairport’s Cropredy Convention.

He will appear on Thursday, August 8 at the three-day folk festival near Chipping Warden, heading up a wide range of top acts. It is likely to be his only UK appearance this year at the festival where he will be bringing a unique rock sound.

Dave Pegg, from Fairport, who organises the event, said: “We’ve been hoping to get Alice to Cropredy for years and at last the work calendars have coincided. Alice is one of rock music’s great originals and his live shows are pure entertainment with their great combination of rock, theatricality and breathtaking staging.

“Alice has produced some of the most accomplished and exciting rock of the past four decades.”

Performing on Friday, August 9 will be The Levellers and 10CC, always popular musicians at the event, while Saturday night sees Nik Kershaw performing prior to a three-hour set from Fairport Convention.
