AN AMATEUR dramatics group will be bringing a thrilling comedy to the stage
Eydon Players will be performing Where There’s a Will... by Ian Hornby.
It tells the troubles of the Parkinson’s marriage, mainly caused by the roving eye of Derek according to housekeeper Mary.
His wife Linda has had enough and when she discovers his latest lover she settles on a drastic course of action.
The show is directed by Peter Unsworth who says people should not confuse the play with one of the same name by French satirist, Georges Feydeau, although it does share similarities.
Peter said: “It is fast moving, naughty without being vulgar, rather black in parts and has a marvellous twist in its tail. In fact it is everything Maestro Feydeau would approve of.”
Playing the part of Derek is Richard Oliver with his stage wife Linda performed by Sue Russell. There is also a part for producer Ann Goodman.
Peter speaks warmly of the way the cast have pulled together to put the show on.
He added: “Ann is also producing the play and she has managed to pull together a lively crew, many taking responsibilities for the first time.”
The show will be performed at Eydon Village Hall from May 14-16 at 7.30pm.
Tickets, costing £7 for adults, £5 for concessions (Thursday only) and £22 for a family (two adults and two children) can be booked by calling Sue McRoberts on 01327 261068 or by visiting the Royal Oak pub in Eydon.
