A NEWLY formed heavy rock band will be taking to the stage in Daventry to perform their first gig.
Brady Deeprose, 14, from Daventry, Rob Eadon, 13, from Weedon, Louis Walford, 13, from Crick, and Ell’e Chambers, 13, from Yelvertoft, formed Bullets for Bill last month and are looking forward to their first performance at the town campus of Northampton College on Saturday, June 6.
The band was set up and is managed by drummer Louis’ father, Craig.
He said: “Louis has been performing on the drums in his bedroom since the age of nine and he had basically outgrown his bedroom and needed a bigger place.
“I put adverts into local papers to look for band members. I was overwhelmed by the response we had from people and I bought them into a studio to jam with Louis. The best musicians stood out by some distance and I was happy to form them into a band.”
Craig believes the band, who write a lot of their own material, will stand out from the crowd.
He added: “For a group so young, they have reached an excellent level of performance and I can’t wait to see how the public take to them.
“I think they will also stand out because they write a lot of their own material with only two songs out of a set of ten being covers at the moment.”
For the group’s members, it fulfills their ambition to be in a band and they can’t wait to get on stage.
Guitarist Brady said: “We have all wanted to be in a band and now we are in one we are really excited.”
Fellow guitarist Rob added: “We have all known each other from the music scene so we all get on really well as a band.”
The group has a wide range of musical tastes and are looking to create their own sound, however, there is one band that has influenced all the members.
Bass player Ell’e said: “I originally preferred much softer rock but I really like Metallica, as we all do, and we will perform in a hard rock style.”
The free gig will be part of the Daventry Learning Partnership Community Fun Day at the college in Badby Road West, which starts at 2pm. Final performance times for the band have not yet been announced.
