THERE is chance to rock the night away at a music festival in Woodford Halse.
The free Woodford Rocks Easter Festival will feature blues rock and metal music from four bands – Kiss Me Judas, The Sicknotes, The Sirens Call and Third Company.
The festival at Woodford United Football Club in Byfield Road will also feature charity events in aid of the Daniel Worrall Memorial Trust, set up to improve sports facilities in the village.
Daniel, 20, from the village died following a car crash in January this year.
Kicking off the three-day festival on Friday, April 10, will be Kiss Me Judas at 8.30pm.
The Sicknotes will appear on Saturday at 8.30pm and appearing on Sunday are The Sirens Call at 3pm and Third Company at 6.30pm.
Kiss Me Judas, have been performing across the county in the past few months and the festival will give them another chance to do what they love most.
Brian Caves, guitar and vocals, said: “We absolutely love playing live and we have had a lot of good reaction from the crowds at various gigs across Northamptonshire.
“We are all looking forward to performing at Woodford. We just hope that we can make Barry, the organiser, proud and he invites us back to do more gigs.”
The band was invited to perform at the festival by organiser Barry Mines after he saw them appear at The Cross Tree Inn in Byfield earlier in the year.
Brian added: “We had a phenomenal reaction from the people when we appeared at Byfield and we had the whole pub rocking. Somebody attending the gig then alerted us to Barry.
“We then did another gig at the same pub and Barry asked us to perform at Woodford.
“He told us the type of music we play would go down really well with the crowd at Woodford and we’re looking forward to it.”
The band’s influences range from Queen, Van Halen and Alter Bridge and they perform covers of many well-known rock songs from across the ages.
Brian said: “It was bringing Rob into the band that meant we moved away from blues material more into the rock and light metal stuff and the band has really taken off. We will be looking to do more live music, we are working on a new EP and we just hope to carry on performing.”
