A TRIO of councillors gave a Daventry group a big boost on Monday.
Northamptonshire County Councillors Alan Hills (Daventry East), Chris Long (Daventry West) and Robin Brown (Braunston) each handed over a grant of £1,000 to the Daventry Stroke Support Group.
Cllr Hills said: “Ian Simpson, the chairman of the Daventry Stroke Association, contacted Cllr Robin Brown regarding setting up a Daventry branch with its own treasurer and was asking if there was any help.
“Robin got in touch with Cllr Chris Long and myself and we each decided to give £1,000 of our empowerment funds to the group.”
County councillors are provided with an empowerment fund each year – £6,000 for the current year – to distribute to local causes in their areas.
