ROADS on the Timken estate in Daventry have been adopted following seven years of campaigning.

Chris Long has worked with the residents to get the roads adopted by Northamptonshire County Council. This means the authority is now responsible for any problems, such as potholes, which occur on them.

Councillor Long said: “I first started the road adoption campaign on behalf of Timken residents when I was first elected a district councillor seven years ago.

“The path to achieving today’s result has been time consuming, long and torturous. However the hard work has provided a positive result in the long run. I will now try to complete my campaign by talking with the two builders who have been less progressive in their attitude to this matter.”
