Open day for memorial project

WEEDON War Memorial Project is hosting an open day on Saturday.

Photographs and documentation from the war will be on view between 10.30am and 3.30pm in the village hall and anyone with military memorabilia is encouraged to bring it along for identification by historian Captain G Bandy.

The children of Weedon Primary School will read the names of the 90 men from the village who died in the war and there will be a display of great war medical artifacts.

The Rifles Living History Society will be at the hall as well as a display of FWW artefacts including deactivated weaponry. Weedon History Society will also be displaying items from their collection.

Organiser Jenny Copeland said: “It should be a really good day. There will be something for everyone.”

For further information, she can be contacted on 01327 300973 or bring your war memorabilia along.
