Officer leaves after 25 years

A POLICE officer who joined the force in Daventry is leaving after 25 years.

Northamptonshire Police prepares to bid farewell to Police Sergeant David Gellatly, who joined the force in 1987. He was first stationed at Daventry and during his service, has been based at Brixworth, Towcester and Brackley. He has also served in CID in Northampton, and worked as a custody sergeant at Campbell Square and Weston Favell Police Stations. During his service, Sgt Gellatly has received two Police Commendations for bravery. Prior to his retirement, the father of three has qualified as a freelance proofreader.

Paying tribute to Sgt Gellatly, his daughters said: “You have served the community well and we are very proud of you. We look forward to you enjoying a long and happy retirement”.
