Funds for vulnerable

A £250,000 cash pot has been provided to help protect vulnerable people during winter, which will include distributing slankets.

The sleeved blankets form part of a number of items which will be given to those who need help across Northamptonshire.

The money has been provided by the Government after a joint bid from NHS Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire County Council, Age UK and other agencies.

In 2010 there were a total of 253 winter deaths recorded in the county.
