Forty more homes put forward in village

A PROPOSAL has been put forward to build an extra 40 homes in Woodford Halse.

The homes will be just off Byfield Road and these will be situated next to a site which has been earmarked for another 200 homes. These plans were due to be determined by the planning committee of Daventry District Council last night (Wednesday).

There had been objections from villagers who had outlined that if the 200 homes were given the go-ahead, local amenities would struggle to cope and there would be an increase in traffic as well as the possibilbity of further flooding into the village.

One of the residents Pam Williams said: “If we had to choose, we would rather that 40 homes were given the go-ahead rather than the 200.

“However, if both of the applications were to get the go-ahead then I think it would be catastrophic to the village and cause even more problems.”
