A BALLET group in Daventry is celebrating a successful first year after all its students passed exams.
The LoveBallet Dance Company was set up in January last year by Lorraine Heath, a former professional dancer and experienced dance teacher from Warwickshire.
The school meets on Mondays in the Nene Hall on the town’s Grange estate, and has gone fr
om strength to strength since it started.
In May about 35 children from the area took their very first ballet exams.
The young dancers, aged from four to 10 years old from Daventry and the surrounding area, all passed either the pre-syllabus or pre-primary exams through the British Ballet Organisation, with many children achiving the highest grade.
Miss Heath said: “The children, parents and I are all very proud of the results as everyone has worked very hard.
“The children love the ballet lessons and it gives them a goal to work towards and a sense of achivement, which is very good for their confidence and general outlook on life.”
Having passed these exams, the children have now moved up a grade and are working towards their next exams.
The company has also expanded to start groups in Upper Boddington and Southam, and now has adult classes in Daventry.
