A DAVENTRY businessman is one of three finalists in line to win a top Midlands award.
David Nicoll, owner of the Rugby-based JTD CerTax Accounting, has been shortlisted in the Business Person of the Year category in the 2009 Midlands Business Awards.

Mr Nicoll, of Mercury Close, Daventry, was among five contenders in the category but last week he became one of three finalists in a shortlisting process.

Digby, Lord Jones of Birmingham will be at the awards night, which is due to be held on Friday, January 30 at the NEC Metropole Hotel in Birmingham.

There are 10 categories in total at the event, which is now in its third year, including prizes for the Midlands’ top university and leading exporter.

Organiser Harj Sandher of UK Special Events said: “We are delighted with the range of people who have been put forward and whoever wins will be worthy of the accolades they achieve.”
