SLIMMING MIRACLE? YOU'LL HAVE TO WEIGHT AND SEE!

Exclusive to Daventry: Joint owner Maria Lloyd-Wright inside the Hypoxi Centre

Ready for the challenge: Lauren Hopkins and Sue Eaton with the Hypoxi suits they will wear during a session on the Vacunaut. (hypoxi-015078)

THE latest celebrity weight loss craze favoured by the likes of Robbie Williams has come to Daventry claiming to give you slimmer hips, thighs, buttocks and a flat stomach all without surgery. But does this modern miracle work? The Daventry Express is putting it to the test. Over the next four weeks we will be following the progress of two members of the Gusher team as they go head-to-head in a battle to see who can lose the most inches. Daventry Express reporter Alice Dyer will be monitoring their progress

FANCY a quick and easy way to lose weight and a few dress sizes?

Then pay a visit to The Hypoxi Centre at Beauty at Sun City, where joint owners Richard Hikins and Maria Lloyd-Wright say they can help create the perfect body.

The HypoxiTherapy treatment at the centre, located within Sun City, on Daventry’s Brook Street, is said to offer immediate, non invasive and painless results and is a new opportunity for unwanted fat and cellulite to be a nightmare of the past.

Designed and patented by Austrian sports scientist Dr Egger, HypoxiTherapy targets the problem zones of the stomach, waist, hips, buttocks and thighs through the unique simultaneous activity of vacuum suction and gentle exercise.

The ground-breaking technology claims to produce visible reduction of inches after only two weeks.
And with further claims to reduce cellulite, smooth skin and sculpt physiques, HypoxiTherapy is being hailed as a revolutionary leap forward in the health and beauty business.

Richard and Maria, who opened the Daventry centre earlier this month, both believe it can work, which is why they are letting the Gusher put it to the test.

They have had training in preparation for their venture and will provide customers with a consultation and a healthy eating plan, before they start on a course.
What’s more, the Daventry Hypoxi Centre, is one of only a handful across the country and is the only one within a 50-mile radius.

Richard said: “People love it, they are really excited that something that Robbie Williams swears by and is at the cutting edge of treatment for cellulite and weight loss is available in Daventry.

“It’s popular with customers simply because it works.

“We don't recommend diets and only show our clients a healthy eating plan.

“We monitor this as much as the client wants to, right down to food diaries if the client wants to.

“Using the Vacunaut, Sue and Lauren will wear a suit similar to a wet suit however it has 120 air pressure chambers that will change the pressure around the stomach area, increasing blood flow whilst doing a gentle fat- burning exercise.

“This really is the easiest treatment in the world!

“It's really easy, good fun and you get to use some really state-of-the-art equipment in a cutting edge environment.

“They'll love it from day one, with the Vacunaut you see inch loss from the very first session.

“So they'll just keep getting motivated and look forward to the next session.

“They’ll see weight loss, skin firming, healthy looking skin and above all they'll feel really good within themselves.”

The simple solution? The Hypoxi is claimed to be able to reduce you by several dress sizes with a course of sessions

Daring Duo take up the Challenge

Sue Eaton, aged 40
Key Account Manager at the Daventry Express:
Sue describes herself as a ‘fussy eater’ and her biggest challenge will be changing her habits.
At the moment Sue doesn’t eat breakfast which results in her snacking mid-morning on crisps – the thing she says she’ll miss the most.
Sue does regularly eat vegetables but doesn’t exercise apart from rushing around working full-time and being a busy mum.
Before the challenge, Sue said: “My first impression is that Hypoxi is quite in depth and detailed.
“To me it represents a whole new change to how I conduct my lifestyle.
“The main thing that I want to get out of it is to increase my fitness levels and try and eat a better and well balanced diet. If I lose a few inches from around my tummy it will be a bonus.
“Now I’m 40 I need to make sure I’m fit and healthy for the next stage of my life.
“This could be the kick start I need and I’m going to give it my best shot.”

Tummy tucking: Sue Eaton prepares to begin her four-week course on the Vacunaut, described as the natural alternative to a tummy tuck. (hypoxi-015076)

Lauren Hopkins, aged 21
Field Sales Representative at the Daventry Express:
Lauren, who says she will miss eating pasta the most, describes her eating habits and exercise regime as being ‘up and down’.
She also makes sure she eats a healthy lunch but admits tucking into the odd bit of junk food at the weekends.Lauren said she has not done any exercise since Christmas but does sometimes go out running with her dad. Lauren enjoys socialising with her friends at the weekend, but realises in order to see effective results she will need to cut down on her alcohol intake.
Before starting her Hypoxitherapy course, Lauren said: “Hypoxi looks interesting.
“There’s never been anything like this in Daventry before.
“The Hypoxi Centre seem pretty confident that it will work.
“I’m hoping it will tone me and get me into a routine of a healthy eating plan.
“I’m dedicated to sticking to it and seeing how effective it is.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the results.”

Lauren's diary...
My first session on the vacunaut, yesterday at 4.30pm. Throughout the day I had started my healthy eating plan which wasn't a struggle at all, the only thing I changed was my mid-morning packet of quavers and instead of having diet coke I had water.
As the time grew nearer to my session I wasn't feeling nervous really, however I wasn't particulary looking forward to wearing the Hypoxi suit either!
When I arrived Maria made me feel comfortable and explained what we were going to do. We went into the changing room and then she dropped the bombshell...I had to have my picture take in my underwear!
Now thanks to my collegue Sue I had no idea this was going to happen and I'm sure that everyone will agree unless you are a model or Jordan you will not be comfortable standing there half naked!
However saying that, maria was very professional, we cracked a few jokes and got on with it (this was so I could see the change at the end of my treatment).
She took my measurements and weighed me, I then had to get into my undersuit (this is what you wear under the Hypoxi suit), it's not the most flattering thing i've worn in my life I must admit.
Maria then helped me into the Hypoxi suit and to be honest I felt very abnormal.
I then started my workout, after being connected to the Vacunaut machine all the air was sucked out of my suit and as I was walking I felt as if I had bubble wrap moving over and over on my stomach, it was a weird sensation but it kept my mind off the time.
After the 40 minutes were up I felt very tired and was looking forward to relaxing at home!
Maria took my measurements again and it showed that I had already lost 0.8cm!
I went away feeling very happy and looking forward to my next session.

Lauren's diary ...(2)
I had my 5th session on Friday, Although it is still hard work I am really starting to get into it and am enjoying it much more.
My fitness levels have improved already! I feel much better in myself too. I have had a few hiccups with the healthy eating plan but I have got myself back on course and focussed now.
I have my weigh-in tomorrow (tuesday) I am a bit nervous but am looking forward to seeing the results. I do feel like I have lost as my jeans are feeling looser although I dont want to temp fate so Im keeping quiet until im measured.
Fingers crossed!

Lauren's Diary ...(3)
I had my 6th session yesterday so it was time for me to get weighed and measured!
I was a little bit nervous as I wasn't sure whether I had lost anything. Saying that on the weekend my jeans were a lot looser and people were saying to me I look like I had lost.
I had my workout and then I was weighed - I had lost 2kg! then I was measured - waist I had lost 3.3cm, Stomach I had lost 2.5cm and my Hips I have lost 3.2cm.
I was so pleased and so was Maria.
Roll on the next 6!!

Sue's diary...
Having arrived down at the centre, I was quite nervous, this wasn't helped when I had to strip off and be measured, and photographed in all my glory !!!

Then given a tight fitting lycra suit to wear, Lycra being a very unforgiving material when you have lumps and bumps.

Next I was helped into a thick suit ( the hypoxi suite) which is very tight and you can't bend or anything, I even needed help to get my trainers on, once it was on.

Next I was wired up to the machine and all the air was sucked out of me. It took a few minutes once the machine had started up to get used the the walking machine and the bubbly feeling around my middle, but I was off !!

This bit of the preparation was a little undignified, but Maria and staff were very nice, and did everything to put me at ease. 40 minutes seems like a long time to be walking at a fast pace, but in fact it goes quite quick.

Maria stayed with me all the time, chatting etc, which helped pass the time.

I expected to ache the next day, but in fact I felt ok. the second and third time the whole process was a lot easier, but at this point I did not feel any different, UNTIL...

Saturday morning, getting dressed, I put on my size 14 ( usually well fitting jeans) and low and behold they were so loose, I could pull them down over my hips without undoing the button or zip. Went shopping Saturday and spent whole time hitching them up with a smile on my face !!!!

So from a real sceptic, I am beginning to have hope that by the end of the 12 sessions, I will truly resemble Kylie, which has made me take the whole diet thing that goes with the programme a bit more serious, bring on the salad !!

But oh, how I would love a packet of Walkers Ready salted !!

Sue's Diary...(2)
Half way through, and low and behold, people are starting to notice - people can see a difference in me !!!
Had my sixth session on Friday, and managed to walk faster and at a quicker pace for more of the 40 minutes, ( was absolutely shattered though!) which also proves my fitness has improved.
Got measured and weighed after and have lost 1 kilo and aprox 2 cms from around my middle.
Am feeling very motivated now, as I and other people are seeing the results of my hard labour.
I am actually beginning to enjoy salad, but the longing for a packet of ready salted is never too far away, but I have resisted. So far !!!

Sue's Diary...(3)
I'm in the final furlong, the finishing post is in sight, and I have to admit despite my initial reservations, I do feel better for the excercise.

The food thing has been a struggle at times, especially when I go to the cupboard at home, and the kids' crisps are winking at me !!! but I have resisted and now that I and other people can see the effects I am motivated to carry on.

Some sessions seem longer than others, and walking for 40 minutes can be a bit boring, but it gives me plenty of time to think about all the new clothes I'm going to buy when I'm thin and gorgeous !!

Looking forward to the final 'walk' and getting the final results!
